This beautiful ice wine is made from sämling and welschriesling grapes. It is golden, dense and rich, but well balanced in structure and with a nice sweetness and acidity. It has complex flavours of ripe exotic fruit, honey and concentrated passion fruit and exceptionally aromatic. Eiswein (icewine) is a very special wine because it is made exclusively from grapes that are completely frozen. The temperature at the harvest has to be at least -7°celsius. At that point the juice in the grapes freezes and the concentrated, sugar-rich extract can be pressed out gently. This produces a very rich and sweet juice but the yield is rather low.
